March 2014

It’s been 6 weeks? Well… I was “kinda busy”!

Busy growing up, learning how to sit up without mom’s or dad’s help and who would have thought that mixing the good stuff out of the bottle with cereal can be so yummy?!

But let’s back up a little to start with. Dad still drops me off at daycare every morning and it’s been very interesting so far. I think I met my first girlfriend! She is cute and takes very good care of me. She tucks me in, plays with me, she even brings me binkies from the other babies even though I am sure they are not really happy with that. She is a little older than me but mom says it’s fine. The only problem right now is that there is so much going on around me that I have a hard time napping throughout the day so I am always happy when mom picks me up at the end of the day – it’s exhausting!

So for the last 5 months I’ve been either being carried by my parents or I was just laying around on my back so I had to make some changes to gain a new perspective. Sitting up is so much more fun! I can better reach for my toys and I see much more of what’s going on around me. It’s also easier now when I sit in my chair and my parents feed me with this delicious mix of milk and cereal. I can’t wait to explore all the other good things they brought home today – sweet potatoes, peas, carrots… oh so good!

What else is new? Oh… it’s daddy’s job to feed me at night and so far he did quite a good job on that. However, the other night he didn’t wake me up – he fell asleep on the couch and did not even hear the alarm going off. I woke up hungry but I think I might get used to this sleeping through the night in my comfortable crib (mom: just double my breakfast).

More when I’ll be able to walk (just kidding).

January 2014

It’s been exactly one month since my (lazy) daddy made some updates to my site so I thought I bring you up to speed on my own.

It’s only February but much has happened already. And I can tell you: I really don’t like being sick. And I was sick almost all January. Don’t know how many times mom and dad took me to my doctor, hooked me up to that nasty aspirator, sucked my nose, took my temperature and worried about me. But I am doing better now, all that’s left is a stuffy nose and tonight is the first night in weeks that I can sleep in my bed again (even though I have to say: I love sleeping in my swing!). I also got my second round of shots – yikes! This time however I was a real trooper, I cried enough over the last weeks so I thought I’d give my parents a break and take it like a champ!

But there is more news! I’m kind of used to being strapped in my car seat, to fall asleep while driving just to wake up somewhere else – either at Grandma’s, childcare, a park or a store. But we always go back home after a while. This time was different! I woke up to a place I haven’t seen before only to find all my stuff, my toys, my swing, my bed… everything was there too! And we never went back home! Later I heard that mom thought it’s a good idea to move within 4 days after seeing this new place for the first time. Daddy is still recovering (he really needs to work out more!). But I’m telling you: I like my new home! It has a garage for both of my parents cars, a huge kitchen (I’ll switch to solids soon so space is needed), lots of sun light and a bath tub almost as big as grandma’s pool!

Tomorrow is super bowl Sunday, mom and dad are having friends over and I’m sure dad will finally light up the grill – let’s see if I can get some of his steak :-)

As you can see from my pictures below I keep on growing. Weighing almost 16 pounds and having lots of hair always confuses my teachers at child care, they never believe me when I tell them that I’m only 4.5 months old. Guess it’s because I asked mom to put a little more milk in my bottle each day, I really don’t understand how all the other babies in my group get full with all these tiny bottles…

Okay, I’m off to bed now. Have a wonderful weekend and let’s hope the Seahawks make it a miserable day for Peyton Manning tomorrow.

Oh and in case you’re interested, here also a short video :)

Happy New Year!

Dear Family and Friends,

We would like to take the chance and wish all of you a HAPPY NEW YEAR! Thanks for all your support in 2013, for all the good times we shared, for all your support over the last months, for listening, for good food, for just being there. We hope it’s gonna be a great 2014 for all of you.

2013 will certainly remain the most memorable year for the two of us, little Dean “Nugget” let’s us smile ever since he came into our life. Without a question: you keep us on our toes little man and we don’t want it any other way.

So what happened over the last 4 weeks (has it really been that long)? Well… little man discovered quite a few more ways to make himself noticeable. “I eat, I sleep, I cry…” was yesterday. Tons of smiles every day, baby talk nonstop, yelling if he feels like it, grabbing mom’s earrings or necklaces or splashing during bath time – that’s what it’s all about. Well eating is still one of his favorite things as you can see in the pictures below, he keeps on growing like a champ!

Oh and he chose is football team as well. Green Bay  Packers it is and he seems to be their new lucky charm. It didn’t look good last weekend but once he woke up and followed the game… well… Playoffs! Let’s hope he’s awake on Sunday as well :-)

Enjoy the pictures and we’ll be back with more soon!

My weeks 8 to 10

Hello family and friends!

It’s been some rough days for me. Everything started off so well, I enjoyed Thanksgiving at Grandma’s house with delicious ciopinno, an awesome turkey (mom and dad are still enjoying the leftovers) and great company only to wake up the next morning with a horrible cold. Coughing, sneezing, fever… ugh! Since my fever was as high as 102F mom and dad decided to take me to my doctor. I won’t get into detail what I went through over there but I will tell you: it wasn’t fun!

But despite not feeling well the last days I think I’m doing pretty good. The doc said something about 13lb 5oz and mom and dad looked very proud. The only sad thing is that I need new clothes all the time, the label now says 6 months even though I know for sure that I will be exactly 10 weeks old tomorrow – yay – double digits!

I also joined some kind of club over the last 2 weeks. Dad drops me off in the morning and mom picks me up in the afternoon. All day long there are other babies around me, most of them a little older. But it looks like they kinda like me there, I’m getting cuddled all day long, enjoy my milk and we listen to music all the time (however mom needs to tell them that I’m much more into “The Pogues” and “Dropkick Murphys” than lullabies).

Okay, bed time now, need to fight that nasty cold. Enjoy the pictures my parents took below!

PS: You should leave some comments next time, I want to make sure you guys are reading my diary!

I eat, I sleep, I cry…

It’s been a while since we added pictures to the site but hey: we have the best excuse ever :-) The little man keeps us on our toes!

The last weeks have been incredible, Dean is growing like crazy and it seems like he looks different every single day. It’s exciting to see him developing a personality and we experience new things all the time. Instead of just staring in the air he started to communicate in his own special way, mirroring facial expressions, laughing, smiling and his way of talking makes us smile a lot lately. But he never forgets what he can do best: yell at us when he’s hungry or when his tummy irritates him again.

But enough said: Enjoy the new pictures!
